Looking back on this 12 months later, would you say we're not quite as far along as predicted? E.g. an American Airlines AI agent to handle all aspects of trip booking doesn't seem to be on the market yet (sadly)
What Apple demoed is the orchestration layer for the airline agent use case, so we're about a phase behind where I expected us to be at this point. SAP is one of the first companies to bring the intelligent agent concept into a large scale enterprise product.
Copilot is still limited and hasn't fully rolled out. OpenAI's LLM app store was really taken over by Hugging Face and it hasn't been able to make a partnership ecosystem come together either.
An odd trend I see is developed products which aren't being released. VS Code has implemented generative features that haven't been shipped beyond closed alpha releases. Meta has generative avatars that can engage with people on social media and those haven't been deployed yet. There are a lot more examples, and I don't know why they haven't been rolled out for wider deployments. They work, but something else is keeping them under wraps.
All in all, I think we're about 3-6 months behind where I expected products to be.
Impressive (yet not surprising from you) how you called it! Not that it matters, but this was written on my bday and I have a witty math riddle for the exact number. V-squared, where V is the largest 1-digit prime number. (I should have used x - but ... ;))
